Encourage Your Child to Get Moving

Exercise may not sound like something your child wants to do, but it's important that they get some physical activity daily. To ensure they stay fit, use these tips to help them enjoy participating in physical activities.

Get Active as a Family

Your child may have a hard time finding the motivation to get up and get moving, especially when they're tempted to just watch television or play video games. Get your whole family involved so that this is more fun for everyone. Play a team sport, go for a hike, or have a friendly competition so that everyone stays motivated and has fun.

Play Outdoors

Staying indoors while trying to do a physical exercise can be tough. Outdoor activities can be much more fun, so don't be afraid to get outside for this. There are plenty of fun activities that your child will enjoy without even thinking that they're doing exercise. Swimming, bike riding, skating, and other types of activities will feel more like play than exercise.

Use Technology to Get Moving

If you can't go outdoors, you can use technology to get your child moving. Video games that require your child to get up and dance are a great way to ensure they do a physical activity while still having fun. You can also find plenty of instructional videos for yoga, pilates, dancing, and other fun workouts you can do in your living room.
